We are a family run pub based in the small picturesque village of Chalgrove, Oxfordshire
We are a family run pub based in the small picturesque village of Chalgrove, Oxfordshire The Red Lion is a 15th century building owned by the Church and run by Raymond & Suzanne Sexton as a free house.

The Red Lion has lots of character, oak beams and a roaring log burner in the cold winter months, a front garden with seating rolling down to the brook. To the rear of the pub is a very large garden, suitable for a marquee for up to 200+ guests; there is also a comfortable private dining room which will accommodate 25 guests. We also provide outside bar facilities for other occasions.


All food is prepared and cooked to order in our own kitchen, with a selection of homemade puddings; we also host a pudding evening on the second Tuesday of every month (very popular/bookings a must). 

We provide a full a la carte menu, children’s menu and changing Daily Specials. We have a compact wine list, five hand-pulled real ales and premium lagers and ciders available. We hope you enjoy your time at the Red Lion and tell your friends about us.

We are able to cater for all kinds of dietary requirements including Food allergies and intolerances, Vegetarian, Vegan.  Please ask your server for more information should you require it.
